Boldings report

 

 

BOLDINGS REPORT  16-10-13.

 

          Colin Wozak [Matrix Total Angling] was back in first place on Monday at Boldings Pools after a week off, taking victory thanks to 120-14-0 of carp to 4lbs on shallow maggot from peg 32 on the Chestnut.

          Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] joined Wozak in the frame by taking a Willows best of 100-6-0 from peg 16. He fished pellet at 5 metres and close in and had carp to 7lbs with barbel to 3lbs. Phil Shaw [Lower Hill] finished third on 94-10-0 at Chestnut 4 and 4th went to 68-10-0 by Dave Matson [Rod & Gun] at Chestnut 21.

 

          Phil Shaw jumped to top spot on Wednesday when he recorded the best weight of the week, 123-12-0 at Ash peg 7. His fish, carp to 6lbs mopped up shallow fished maggot and pellet.

          Colin Wozak added a second to his win by scaling 121-4-0 at Ash 23, where he fished shallow and into the corner with pellet. Graham Palmer [Fitters] was some way behind on 60-2-0 in third at Ash 16.

 

          Less than a pound separated the top two on Thursday, with both competitors drawing  peg number 4 on different pools. Winner Gareth Emlyn [Oakengates Ang Cent] pulled Sycamore 4 from the bag where maggot fished down the shelf, alternated with fishing into the corner, put carp and barbel in the net, with samples to 7lbs and 3lbs adding up to 69-15-0.

          Peg 4 on the Chestnut was occupied by Tony Woolaston [Ind] and his close in pellet found carp to 5lbs with barbel to 3lbs for a 69-2-0 total/ At Sycamore 47 Dave Doughty [Woodend] scaled 63-11-0 in third and at peg 33 Ken Humphreys Oswestry] picked up 4th for his 61-5-0.

 

          Oswestry rod Steve Hall claimed the winners purse on Saturday with a mix of carp and barbel for 75-10-0 at Chestnut peg 38. Steve caught on maggot down the side and had fish to 7lbs and 3lbs.

          Ian Morris [O’gates Ang] collected second with a Sycamore best of 63-5-0, which came from peg 24 and consisted of carp to 6lbs with bream to 2lbs. Peg 47 gave third for the second time with Nige Clarke [Mosella] taking the place with 57-1-0. fourth came from peg 8 when Alan Naylor [O’gates Ang] weighed in 46-8-0.

 

          Ken Humphreys added a win to his mid-week placing with victory on Sunday. Drawn on Beech 7 he fished to each side of the point with maggot to net 81-6-0 of carp 6lbs.

          The rest of the frame weights came from the Oak, with Mark Taylor [Shakespeare Vespe] taking second from peg 31 with 63-6-0.
