Boldings report

 

 

BOLDINGS REPORT  3-7-13.

 

Having recorded his first win for a while last week at Boldings Pools, Dave Matson [Rod & Gun] was back at the top of the frame again on Monday this week, when a close in pellet approach at peg 9 on the Beech put 86-14-0 of carp to 7lbs on the scales.

          Almost opposite the winner at peg 18, Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] worked close in and at 6 metres with pellet to sneak second, just ahead of Ben Brisbourne [Tricast Weston]. Colin finished the match on 77-3-0 to pip bens 76-15-0 at peg 5. Godfrey Wood [Matrix Total Angling] had 72-14-0 from the point to finish fourth.

 

          Ben Brisbourne was in action again on Wednesday, moving up to the top of the list with a Larch 14 haul of 111-1-0. fishing paste at 4 metres, Ben caught carp in the 1lb to 3lbs range to build his weight.

          On the other side of the pool Tony Foster [PI Boldings] offered pellet, up in the water to find carp to 6lbs on his way to 90-6-0 at peg 23. Dave Matson swapped places with Ben Brisbourne to fill third this time, his 79-6-0 being the top weight on the Chestnut. Fourth came from the Larch when Alan Jones [Deggys] weighed 74-3-0 at peg 4.

 

          Top weight of the week came on Thursday and fell to Dave Hailey [PI Bold] after he drew peg 24 on the Sycamore, which responded to shallow pellet tactics in the form of carp to 8lbs. With plenty of the bigger fish coming to the net, Dave soon passed the 100lbs mark, and went to total 160-12-0.

          Colin Reynolds had to settle for second again, despite recording 142-13-0 at peg 31. Colin had carp to 9lbs and barbel 3lbs on pellet at peg 31. Just along the long bank from Colin, at peg 34 John Wild [Stafford] put his name on third by netting 107-6-0 and Terry Edwards [Wolves] made it an all ton frame by scaling 104-7-0 at peg 4.

 

          Andy Kyte [Maver Sonubaits] scored the first win of a week-end double on Saturday with a maggot attack at Sycamore peg 46. Fishing close in put carp to 7lbs with barbel to 3lbs in the net for a winning total of 115-0-0.

          Pete Plant [Maver Midlands] fished his favourite shallow caster method at peg 16 for a runner net of 101-12-0, which was made up with carp to 6lbs. 79-8-0 from peg 39 gave Matt Stobbs [O’gates Ang Cent] third while a Chestnut best of 74-8-0 put Jamie Langford [Matrix TA] into fourth.

 

          Three different pools filled the top three places on Sunday and this time Andy Kyte drew on the Larch to complete his double. Maggot in the side, combined with pellet at 5 metres gave a return of 148-1-0, which included carp to 9lbs, at peg 24.

          Top man on the Willows and second overall was Colin Wozek [MTA]who worked shallow pellet at peg 16 to pick off carp to 6lbs for final figures of 122-2-0.
