Boldings report

BOLDINGS REPORT  12-9-12.

Harry Colley (PI Boldings) followed up his Wednesday win of last week by claiming the coin on the Monday open this week at Boldings, but he had to work for it as he had John Palfrey (Oakengates Ang Cent) pushing him all the way to the finish, and was only one fish ahead at the whistle.

Both were on the Stock Pool, with Harry scaling 101-5-0 at peg 5, while John scaled 98-6-0 at peg 7.

Third went to the top weight from the Middle Pool, which was recorded by Mick Jameson (Mid Leisure) at peg 1, in the corner. Mick had a level 94-0-0, and at peg 5 on the same pool, Josh Humphries (ABC) weighed in 87-3-0 to finish fourth.

On Thursday Steve Forrest took the winners purse home to Nottingham after he drew peg 17 on the Willows Pool and posted 84-8-0. Local rod Adam Slade (BAS) grabbed second thanks to an Oak Pool top weight of 74-14-0, which came from peg 8.

back on the Willows Gareth Emlyn (Oak Ang Cent) was a close third on 73-8-0 at peg 5, with Dave Lloyd (Maver) just behind him on 72-6-0 at Willows 11.

Colin Reynolds (Bilston Ang Cent) posted the top weight of the week to score a clear win on Saturday. Pegged on the Sycamore at peg 47, Colin offered corn and pellet to each side of the peg to pick off carp to 9lbs, which helped him to a 127-8-0 total.

The next three weights all came from the Chestnut, with peg 23 providing the runner up weight for Carl Foster (PI Bold) who had a mix of carp to 6lbs and barbel to 2lbs which came to 63-6-0.

Over in the corner at peg 1 Jason Atwell (Phil’s Tackle) finished close behind second on 62-2-0, and last weeks winner John Francis (Rod & Gun) had 59-14-0 for 4th this time.

The top four on Sunday were all pegged on the Willows Pool, where shallow pellet accounted for the catches. Leading  a trio of ton up weights was Mitch Davidson (Maver Gold) at peg 17. He had all carp to 6lbs to edge 4lbs clear of the rest with 110-8-0.

Opposite Mitch, on point peg 7 Carl Jones (Maver) mixed barbel to 3lbs in with carp to 5lbs while building his 106-9-0 for second. Next to the winner at peg 16, Andy Kyte (Maver Sonubaits) netted 103-4-0 for third and at peg 19 Gareth Emlyn (Oak Ang Cent) had 93-13-0 in 4th. Top weight on the Chestnut was 88-15-0, which gave Sean Barber (Maver Midlands) 5th.
