BOLDINGS REPORT
Josh Humphries (ABC) was a clear winner at Boldings Pools on Wednesday when 91-8-0 at Sycamore 24 put him 34lbs ahead of the field, for his second successive Wednesday win. Josh fished shallow pellet in open water combined with margin fishing to find carp to 8lbs and bream to 3lbs.
Runner up Richard Duke (BAS) used similar tactics at peg 16 for similar sized carp and barbel to 2lbs, but sport was slower at his peg leaving him on 57-6-0.
Matt Stobbs (OAC_ was one fish behind second on 54-6-0 at peg 34 and in 4th was Brian Clark (Marukyu Colmic) on 49-12-0 at peg 13.
Next day Gareth Emlyn (OAC) won with the first ton of the week at the complex, after he drew peg 29 on the Oak Pool. Maggot fished to each side of the point found carp to 6lbs and barbel to 2lbs in 101-9-0 total.
At Ash peg 24 Colin Croft (Rivacre) netted carp to 8lbs and bream to 3lbs offering pellet down the shelf, and finished not far behind the winner on 98-7-0. Three pounds behind Colin, with a Sycamore best of 95-6-0 was dave Barnard (Rod & Gun) and only one ounce behind him came Andy Williams (Vespe) whose 95-5-0 came from Oak 8, making it two Thursdays running that he has framed from the peg.
Jason Elwell (Phil’s Tackle) made two Saturdays running that he has finished in first place when he posted top weight of the week, 132-1-0 at Larch 26, on the first of the week-end matches. Last weeks win came to corn and pellet, this time Jason opted for paste and corn, which he fished at 5 metres, alternated with close in tactics, and he found carp to 8lbs, to make up his net.
Carl Jones (Maver) kept the winner on his toes with a hot pursuit from peg 13 on the Sycamore. Carp and barbel to 9lbs and 2lbs respectively targeted Carl’s pellet at 5 metres and corn down the side to give a tally of 130-14-0.
Back on the Larch Tony Foster (PI Boldings) had 108-12-0 at peg 16 for third, then it was back to the Sycamore where July Preston league winner Andy Kyte (Maver Sonubaits) made it an all ton top four with 105-5-0 at peg 32.
Dave Craggs (Maver) came up with a winner from the Willows Pool on Sunday. Shallow pellet at 12 metres at peg 4 found plenty of carp in the 5lb range to give final figures of 124-4-0.
Andy Williams was in the frame again, taking second with a Beech Pool top score of 110-4-0, which consisted of carp to 8lbs, taken on corn and maggot at peg 7. Also on the Beech was third man Sean Barber (Maver Sonu) who netted 97-6-0 at peg 26. Oak peg 8 provided 4th again, this for Thursdays winner Gareth Emlyn who scaled an even 92-0-0.
