Between Christmas and New Year at Boldings Pools Dave Craggs (Maver VDE Tipton) picked up a win on the Wednesday open when he recorded top weight of the week, winning with 72-7-0. he was on Stock Pool peg 2 and targeted carp to 5lbs using maggot fished to the far bank.
Matt Stobbs (Oakengates Ang Cent) continued his run with a runner up spot which came via a Deepdale top score of 59-2-0. Pellet and maggot, fished to the paddles and at 10 metres at peg 14 found carp to 4lbs and skimmers to 2lbs.
Howard Williams (Tricast Weston Pools) followed up his win on the previous Wednesday with a third placing here, netting 37-7-0 from Stock peg 7. Fourth man Dave Barnard (Rod & Gun) had a Larch best of 33-7-0.
Andy Bayliss-Kyte (Maver Sonubaits) topped the Thursday list when his mix of carp to 5lbs and skimmers to 2lbs, caught on maggot at 10 and 14 metres at Chestnut 32 came to 54-4-0.
On the opposite side of the pool at peg 14 Mark Skelton (Oakengates Ang Cent) found the carp were a bit smaller, with samples to 4lbs accompanying skimmers to 2lbs, which left him 4lbs short of the winner on 48-4-0.
Ian Ward (Frenzy) had top catch on the Beech to fill third place, his 38-1-0 coming from peg 23, while Pete Ricketts (New Willenhall) took his 4th best 36-5-0 from Beech 32.
Sycamore weights headed the frame on Saturday with the two point pegs giving the top two placings. Dave Brown (Maver) was on 13 and fished out from the point to present maggot at 14 metres. Carp to 7lbs and bream to 2lbs responded to give a total of 65-2-0 and first place.
Glen Brown (Lilco) fished maggot at 12 metres from peg 8, and as it was on Thursday, smaller fish, carp to 4lbs, gave a smaller return, leaving Glen on 60-4-0 in second.
Andy Bayliss-Kyte was in the mix again picking up
The first winner of 2012 at Boldings was Kevin Melville (Maver Total Angling) who eased ahead of the field with a pellet and maggot approach at Oak peg 5. fishing along the dam, Kev picked off carp to 5lbs at regular intervals, sliding the net under a total of 51-9-0.
Up at Oak 16 Colin Reynolds (Bilston Ang Cent) offered pellet at 4 metres and 8 metres and worked hard with mostly small carp, with the odd sample to 4lbs helping him to 39-12-0 for second.
Ed Turner (PI Bold) was top man on the Beech and third overall with 36-7-0 from peg 5, and close behind him with another Oak weight, 35-11-0, was Gary Morris (PI Bold).
With Saturday and Bank Holiday matches added to the qualifying opens for the Preston Innovations individual monthly league, Andy Bayliss-Kyte moved clear of the rest with his clutch of points over the holiday to secure the December prize.
