Carp and barbel fell to pellet and maggot at 12 metres at peg 7, with samples to 5lbs and 2lbs giving a return of 52-6-0.

Eric Bancroft was in the mix again, and like the winner he had carp and barbel but he carp ran smaller at his peg, number 4 on the Sycamore. Fish to 3lbs came to pellet fished down the shelf for figures of 38-4-0.

In third this time was Mark Foster (PI Bold) who had 36-10-0 from Sycamore 34 and following him was Sean Pearce (Wednesbury) on 34-14-0 at Sycamore 6.

On Saturday there was a difference of only two ounces between first and second when Andy Bayliss-Kyte (Maver Sonubaits) just squeezed home ahead of John Francis (Rod & Gun). They were both on the Larch Pool, Andy at peg 4 and John at peg 22 and both offered pellet. Andy tempted carp to 4lbs fishing at 8 metres and close in, while took all his fish, carp to 5lbs, fishing at 10 metres. At the whistle Andy had 57-7-0 to John’s 57-5-0.

Last Sundays winner Mitch Davidson (Oak Ang Cent) filled third place when he weighed 43-14-0 at Larch 25 and a Willows Pool top weight of 42-15-0 saw Matt Stobbs (Oak Ang Cent) into 4th.

Sean Barber (Maver Sonubaits) finished off the week with the top weight, 67-15-0 to win on Sunday. He was drawn on Hawthorn peg 9 and worked pellet at 13 metres to net carp to 7lbs.

Stafford rod John Wild caught carp to 5lbs at 10 metres at Hawthorn 7 to finish second on 60-3-0. Colin Reynolds had another third by scaling 53-15-0 at Hawthorn 3 and Dave Hailey (PI Bold) had a Middle best of 50-10-0 for 4th.

Winner of the Preston Innovations angler of the month for November was Dave Emlyn (Oak Ang Cent) with 13 points and the runner up was Rino Stanko(Oak Ang Cent) with 12.

As of December the points system will amended, with points from six down to one for matches with over competitors, and four down to one for matches with under 20.

Phil Shaw (Lower Hill) converted a third on last Mondays open at Boldings to a first this week. With autumn leaves and temperatures having an effect on weights, Phil won with 50-2-0 from Larch peg16, where pellet at 6 metres found carp to 5lbs.

On peg 19 last weeks winner Eric Bancroft (Rod & Gun) offered pellet down the ledge to contact carp to 6lbs but needed a couple more fish when the whistle sounded, and he had to settle for second with 43-13-0.

There was only four ounces between third and fourth when Colin Reynolds (Bilston Ang Cent) weighed 35-5-0 at peg 5 and Keith Powell (Preston Innov Boldings) had 35-1-0 at peg 25.

Ian Hughes (Drennan NW) won for the second Wednesday on the trot after he drew peg 13 on the Sycamore this week. Going out to 14 metres from the point with maggot did the trick, putting 61-10-0 of carp to 6lbs on the scales, to almost double the runner up weight.

That came from Mark Foster (PI Bold) at peg 47, where carp from 1lb to 4lbs, together with skimmers to 2lbs added up to 33-6-0.

Tony Foster (PI Bold) followed Mark, scaling 28-2-0 in third and a level 26-0-0 gave Pete Ricketts (New Willenhall) 4th.

John Wild (Stafford) took over the winners slot on Thursday when the prize money was split between the Chestnut and the Oak. John Was on the Chestnut  and worked pellet at 8 metres as well as down the side. Carp to 8lbs and skimmers to 2lbs obliged to give a return of 72-5-0.

At peg 21 on the Chestnut there was more success for Tony Foster who finished second this time by taking a mixture of carp to 5lbs and barbel to 2lbs for 65-8-0.

Keith Powell also made the frame again, sharing an Oak best of 57-12-0 with Ted Ecclestone (Stafford).

The Beech Pool provided Gary Morris (PI Bold) with a winner on Saturday when his pellet, fished at 6 metres netted him 72-11-0 of carp to 6lbs.

A chestnut best of 55-13-0 at Peg 36 gave Mick Jameson (Mid Leisure) second. He caught carp and skimmers on pellet, close in and at 6 metres.

46-10-0 at Chestnut 9 put Sean Barber (Maver Sonubaits) into third and Keith Powell enjoyed his third trip to the prize table thanks to an Ash Pool best of 42-14-0.

The Sunday open on the Sycamore saw Mitch Davidson (Oak Ang Cent)  top the card from peg 6, not a peg which has featured very often at the top of the frame. Mitch pulled clear of the field with a pellet and maggot approach at 10 metres which attracted carp to 7lbs to give a final total of 70-1-0.

Fellow OAC rod Alan Naylor had carp to 6lbs at 6metes and 8 metres on the same bait combination as Mitch to finish on a level 53-0-0 in second at peg 45. Gary Morris followed up his previous days winner with a third place when he weighed 46-14-0 at peg 34, with Phil Rhodes (PI Bold) finishing things off with 45-4-0 at peg 31.

Boldings report

BOLDINGS REPORT  15-11-11.

Eric Bancroft (Rod & Gun) posted another Monday win at Boldings Pools this week after a frosty start to the Affordable open. He was on the Oak Pool this time, having won from the Beech last week.

Peg 22 by the island saw Eric fishing pellet at 9 metres to pick off carp to 6lbs which helped him to edge ahead of Gary Morris (Preston Innov Boldings). He was up at the corner of the dam on peg 5, where pellet at 7 metres produced carp to 5lbs. When the scales came to peg 22, Eric was credited with 77-11-0 and when they got to Gary he saw them settle at 72-6-0.

Phil Shaw (Lower Hill) and Russ Allen (Oswestry) exchanged places from last weeks result and Phil took third this time with 70-11-0 at peg 13 and Russ filled 4th with his 44-7-0 at peg 8.

On the Chestnut on Wednesday Ian Hughes (Drennan NW) opted for a shallow maggot approach at peg 36, and the decision proved to be a winning one when he netted 66-3-0 of carp to 5lbs.

Last Wednesdays winner Colin Wozak (Telford) had carp and barbel at peg 10 fishing pellet at 8 metres but fell 10lbs short of the target with a total of 56-10-0. Bob Tromans (Fiery Holes) took home the third prize thanks to 54-8-0 from peg 21 and Bob Stone (Telford) had 47-5-0 at peg 30 to collect 4th.

Mick Keene was one of three Tricast Weston rods in the frame on Thursday, filling the main position courtesy of 75-2-0 from Willows peg 5. Offering pellet at 3 metres and 5 metres put carp to 5lbs and barbel to 2lbs in the winning net.

Tony Foster (PI Bold) prevented a Weston top three when his Sycamore Pool top weight of 66-6-0 put him into the runner up spot. He also netted carp and barbel, which he tempted with pellet at 6 metres and down the side at peg 47.

Howard Williams (Tri West) was exactly 10lbs behind Tony on 56-6-0 at Willows peg 9 and Jeff Harston, who finished third last week, accepted 4th  this time, scaling 55-10-0 at Willows 11.

There was tight finish on Saturday, with 6 ounces separating first and second, with victory just going to Brian Clarke (Marukyu Vespe) at Sycamore peg 5. He landed 40lbs of carp to 6lbs and 30lbs of barbel in the 2lbs class, fishing pellet at 10 metres to weigh in a level 70-0-0.

Over on Chestnut peg 36 Matt Stobbs (Oakengates Angling Centre) worked with maggot at 12 metres and in the side for carp to 7 lbs, to end the day on 69-10-0.

At Sycamore 13 Ricky Ratcliffe (Darlaston) had 61-3-0 for third, ahead of Dave Craggs (Maver) whose 55-12-0 came from Chestnut 16.

Dave Craggs swapped fourth for first the following day, taking top honours from the top number on the Sycamore, peg 50. Taking advantage of the corner position, Dave fished up in the water with caster to attract carp to 6lbs which gave a final score of 87-8-0.

David Emlyn (Oak Ang Cent) added a second to his third in the league match last week, claiming the place with a Chestnut top weight of 69-14-0, taken on shallow maggot at peg 14.

At Chestnut peg 4 Andy Bayliss-Kyte (Maver Sonubaits) recorded 62-4-0 for third and Simon Jaques (Marks Tackle) had 61-13-0 at Chestnut 38 to complete the frame.
