Mel caught on paste, fished at 4 metres, and into the corner, and found carp to 4lbs.

‘Barny’ was on Willows peg 16 and operated with similar tactics to take carp to 6lbs from the 4 metre line and close in to finish on 67-9-0.

Monday frame regular Colin Reynolds (Bilston Ang Cent) picked third this time, weighing in a level 66-0-0 at Willows peg 8, and Bob Tromans (Fiery Holes) had 62-6-0 at Willows 18 for 4th.

Colin Reynolds added a Thursday victory to his list of Monday successes by netting 70-1-0 from peg 39, in the middle of the long bank on the Sycamore. Carp and bream made up the catch, and came to pellet fished in the side.

John Francis (R&G) was the winner at Sycamore 27, where pellet, fished shallow in open water, alternated with a close in approach, saw carp to 7lbs and bream to 3lbs add up to 68-0-0.

Top weight of the week went to Sean Barber (Maver Sonubaits) on Sunday and came from the Hawthorn Pool. Shallow fished pellet brought a succession of carp from 1lb to 6lbs to the net at peg 3 fro Sean, who finished the match with 129-5-0.

Opposite the winner, at peg 12, Graham Evason (OBW) fished pellet and corn close in, and he also caught well, with carp to 6lbs making up a total of 92-15-0.
