Boldings report
MATSON MOVES UP.
Dave Matson (Maver Wolves) moved up to hit the high spot at Boldings Pools this week, claiming first place on the Saturday open with the best catch of the week, after several recent near misses.
Competitors sought the refuge of the sheltered back pools after the recent gales, and the Deepdale showed some fine form, providing Matson with a 65-7-0 winner. On the opposite side of the pool, Andy Bayliss-Kyte (Rod & Gun) stuck with pellet at 10 metres to take carp to 5 lbs for a second placed 50-4-0 at peg 13.
Colin Reynolds (Bilston Angling) is something of a fixture in the frames of late, and was there again twice this week, showing up in third on this match with a Middle Pool best of 48-8-0. Mel Kitson (Rod & Gun) also put in a pool best performance, topping the Hawthorn with 35-4-0 to take 4th overall.
