On the other side of the pool Eric Bancroft [Rod & Gun] fished at 5 metres and down the side with pellet and maggot to weigh 62-5-0, which included carp to 6lbs.

Third went to a Stock Pool top score of 56-10-0 from Bob Tromans [Fiery Holes] at peg 4, and on the same pool Keith Powell [PI Boldings] had 54-6-0 at peg 7.

The Middle Pool beat the Stock to top spot on Wednesday, with Mick Jameson [PI Bold] claiming the winners purse from Middle peg 1, where pellet fished to the paddles and at 6 metres put 60-1-0 of carp to 4lbs on the scales.

Bob Tromans moved up a place to grab second with a Stock best of 54-13-0, which came to corn, fished to the stumps and in the margins.  Middle peg 11 yielded 42-2-0 to Phil Foster [PI Bold] which put him ahead of brother Tony Foster [PI Bold] on 38-10-0 at Middle 5.

Andy Williams [Colmic Vespe] took a turn at the top on Thursday after drawing ‘point’ peg 7 on the Beech. Carp to 5lbs picked up his pellet and maggot offerings on the 6 metre line to give figures of 67-6-0.

Adam Slade [PI Bold] went out to 10 metres with maggot at Beech 18, and had a similar size of fish to the winner in a level 63-0-0. Boldings report

BOLDINGS REPORT  20-11-13.

In a reduced open programme at Boldings Pools Adam Jones [WAC] won two of the three matches, after Tony Woolaston [Kings] took the mid week honours on Thursday.

He pulled Willows peg 5 from the draw bag and attracted carp from 1lb to 5lbs, together with barbel to 3lbs, with maggot, fished at 4 metres and 8 metres. By the end of the match Tony had slipped 92-11-0 into his net to finish at the top of the list.

Next door to the winner at peg 4 Matt Stockton [ Maver |Midlands] also worked with maggot, offering them at 7 metres, and close in to the bank. Carp to 6lbs responded to give Matt figures of 84-13-0and second place. Down on the Oak Pool Dave Hailey [PI Boldings] prevented a Willows clean sweep by netting 74-4-0 from peg 29 to grab third, with fourth coming from the Willows in the form of Mick Jameson [PI Bold] who scaled 65-7-0 at peg 19.

Adam Jones claimed his first win on Saturday when he drew corner peg 50 on the Sycamore and combined maggot with pellet to bring carp to 5lbs and barbel to 2lbs onto the 4 metre and 7 metre lines for a total of 52-10-0. Along at peg 4 Andy Amos [Drennan NW used the same combination and had a similar stamp of fish, but couldn’t match the winners catch rate, finishing 11lbs short on 41-12-0. Third went to Tony Foster [PI Bold] at peg 24 where he weighed 36-6-0 , which left Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] to pick up 4th with his 31-11-0 at peg 48.

Willows peg 5 produced again on Sunday, but responded to different tactics to give Jones his second victory. Opting for pellet at 12 metres proved to be the right decision, putting 96-15-0 of carp to 6lbs and barbel to 3lbs on the scales.

Steve Owen [PI Bold] was opposite the winner on peg 17, and chose waggler tactics to fish up in the water with maggot to pick off ghost carp to 6lbs for a final tally of 70-12-0, which gave him second, just ahead of young rod Jack O’Sullivan [Oakengates Ang Cent]. He led the way on the Sycamore with 69-8-0 from peg 48, and fourth also came from the Sycamore when Graham Roberts [PI Bold] recorded 51-9-0 at peg 50.
